I read the five books of TMI first before reading this because I didn’t know that there was a prequel! I don’t know where to start actually because this book is full of feels. Ships will be formed, and which will sail and sink?
Theresa Gray is a very mysterious character. Her very own identity is a question mark. This is not only her journey to start a new life in London, but a journey also to find love and the answers to who she really is. William Herondale is your usual gorgeous and jerk Shadowhunter with a tortured soul, sounds familiar? Will’s parabatai and holding his own demons for his strange white-silver hair and eyes. It was set in the 19th century in Victorian London. In this book, the Shadowhunters not only face the danger of demons but of the progressing knowledge of technology.
I love how this book showed the deep connection between parabatai unlike in TMI. The way Will care for Jem and Jem for Will, you’ll think it’s a bromance waiting to happen. I can’t even choose who to ship between the two of them because, ugh! It’s just too hard! There are more characters to meet like the Head of London Institute, Charlotte Fairchild Branwell (girl power!), her genius somewhat scientist of a husband, Henry Branwell, the very lovely Jessamine Lovelace, the mysterious Axel Mortmain and many more.
Oooh, and you’re in for a treat ‘cause Magnus Bane will show you around London!

Together with the dashing and handsome Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs, they set out to discover the real reason behind the Magister’s hatred of the Shadowhunters. During their journey to Yorkshire where Tessa discovered the true horror of her parentage, they also discovered that one of their own was betraying them all along. In this tale that mixes love and hate and lies and hope, can Tessa separate the growing attraction she’s feeling for Jem at the same time forget the longing for Will? Will the Shadowhunters survive the machinery of the Magister?
This book is officially one of the saddest, sob worthy story out there. Seriously, my feelings are all over the place! I don’t think my heart was ever the same after reading this. Clockwork Prince will take you into a roller coaster ride of emotions that you wouldn’t want to get out off no matter how sick you are. I felt like I was developing a personality disorder because one second I was smiling and laughing, then the next I was crying so hard it’s not even funny. I feel for Tessa. Truly I do. Up until now, I still can’t choose between Will and Jem. These two are seriously perfectly imperfect. And of course, we’re able to see more of my beloved Magnus Bane around London. He had a powerful role in Will’s character development. I love how these characters seem to grow right in front of our eyes.
