BOOK COVER & SYNOPSIS REVEAL: The Smallest Part by Amy Harmon

The Smallest Part

by Amy Harmon

The Smallest Part

In the end, only three things matter. How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.Unknown

It was a big lie. The biggest lie she’d ever told. It reverberated through her head as she said it, ringing eerily, and the girl behind her eyes—the girl who knew the truth—screamed, and her scream echoed along with the lie.

Are you in love with Noah, Mercedes?” Cora asked. “I mean . . . I know you love him. You’ve been friends forever. We all have. But are you in love with him?

If it had been anyone else—anyone—Mercedes would have stuck out her chest, folded her skinny arms, and let her feelings be known. She would have claimed him. But it was Cora. Brave, beautiful, broken Cora, and Cora loved Noah too.

So Mercedes lied.

And with that lie, she lost him. With that lie, she sealed her fate.

She was the best friend, the bridesmaid, the godmother, the glue. She was there for the good times and the bad, the ups and downs, the biggest moments and the smallest parts. And she was there when it all came crashing down.

This is the tale of the girl who didn’t get the guy.

It has been so long since Dr. Noah’s cameo in The Law of Moses, I think a reread is in order. Although, you can still read The Smallest Part as a standalone. It is slightly different from the other books because it would be grittier and will have (detailed?) sex-scenes. I actually loved it when I heard the news because I’m so excited to see how Amy will write it. I can already feel that this will be another masterpiece by Amy Harmon.

NOW LIVE: The Queen and the Cure by Amy Harmon

The Queen and the Cure

There will be a battle, and you will need to protect your heart.

Kjell of Jeru had always known who he was. He’d never envied his brother or wanted to be king. He was the bastard son of the late King Zoltev and a servant girl, and the ignominy of his birth had never bothered him.

But there is more to a man than his parentage. More to a man than his blade, his size, or his skills, and all that Kjell once knew has shifted and changed. He is no longer simply Kjell of Jeru, a warrior defending the crown. Now he is a healer, one of the Gifted, and a man completely at odds with his power.

Called upon to rid the country of the last vestiges of the Volgar, Kjell stumbles upon a woman who has troubling glimpses of the future and no memory of the past. Armed with his unwanted gift and haunted by regret, Kjell becomes a reluctant savior, beset by old enemies and new expectations. With the woman by his side, Kjell embarks upon a journey where the greatest test may be finding the man she believes him to be.

And the story continues!

I’m so psyched about Kjell’s book! He was not my favorite person at first because he was so harsh and judgemental in The Bird and the Sword (TBATS) but I still love that he has his own story. A story that would continue whatever were left hanging in TBATS. Would they find a cure? And who’s this queen? Is the queen the woman in the cover? OMG, so many questions, best get on reading then!

OMG.

I can’t be more excited! We now have the gorgeous cover for The Queen and the Cure (TQATC).  In the second installment of The Bird an the Sword Chronicles, we follow Kjell in his journey to completely eliminate the remaining Volgar (and, of course, to find love). I just feel so grateful for more stories of this world. It is rare for Amy Harmon to follow-up a book, because she usually write standalones. Anyway, TQATC will be available May 9 so don’t forget to pre-order!

FROM SAND AND ASH

From Sand and Ash

Italy, 1943—Germany occupies much of the country, placing the Jewish population in grave danger during World War II.

As children, Eva Rosselli and Angelo Bianco were raised like family but divided by circumstance and religion. As the years go by, the two find themselves falling in love. But the church calls to Angelo and, despite his deep feelings for Eva, he chooses the priesthood.

Now, more than a decade later, Angelo is a Catholic priest and Eva is a woman with nowhere to turn. With the Gestapo closing in, Angelo hides Eva within the walls of a convent, where Eva discovers she is just one of many Jews being sheltered by the Catholic Church.

But Eva can’t quietly hide, waiting for deliverance, while Angelo risks everything to keep her safe. With the world at war and so many in need, Angelo and Eva face trial after trial, choice after agonizing choice, until fate and fortune finally collide, leaving them with the most difficult decision of all.

A sweeping, epic story of love, war, and the resilience of the human spirit.

In a land purged of enchantment, love might be the only magic left.

Moments before Lark’s mother took her last breaths, she prophesized four things. One, she wouldn’t speak again. Two, if she died so will her father. Third, the king will lose his soul. Last, the prince will be lost to the sky. Years had passed and Lark’s still trapped from her mother’s words and her father’s greed, could Lark be anything but a prisoner?

You chose me because I am of use. But I chose you because I wanted you. All I ever wanted was for you to love me in return.

It took me a long time to find the courage to read this. I’ve loved Amy Harmon’s book but this one was different. But then I’ve read raving reviews and two of my best friends read and love it, so I gave it a go. And I just love it! I love the WORDS. It’s poetry on its own. It was thrilling, romantic and so very captivating, I couldn’t put it down!

I love the characters. I love Lark’s perseverance and loyalty. She’s a strong woman despite everything she’s been through as a child. I was so frustrated at Tiras in the beginning because it was so obvious that he’s using Lark for her gifts… but they’re little moments together just brought all the feels. They’re love story is just so heartbreaking.

I guessed who’s the villain was so there’s no surprise when that character reappeared. I also had suspicions with this character, so when this character showed betrayal, I didn’t share the same feelings as our heroine. But I love how it all turned out in the end. The epilogue was bittersweet, I got a bit teary-eyed. So here’s to four-point-five stars!
