Say the Word by Julie Johnson

Say the Word

Say the Word

Lux Kincaid met and fall in love with Sebastian Covington when they were seventeen years old. Like all great love stories ever told, it ended tragically. Years later their paths crossed again. But rekindling lost love is not easy for both parties. Can Bash find it in him to forgive the girl who broke his heart? Will Lux finally succumb to sharing her secrets?

“Say the word and I’ll go,” I whispered in a broken voice, my watering eyes locked on his furious ones. “Say the word and I’ll fade away, and this, right here, will be the last time you see me.”

I love, love this book so much! It’s just so heartbreakingly beautiful. Initially I’m not a fan of novels with ‘Then’ and ‘Now’ for chapters but this book is just so good, I couldn’t get enough of it. I could’ve live without the ‘action’ part where they fought the bad guys and all that. I would’ve been perfectly content if this story centered on Lux and Bash love story. However, I still love it. It’s like waiting for the other shoe to drop because good may prevail in the end but it’s still unpredictable how they’ll get there.

I even loved Fae and Simon. The best set of best friends ever! They actually add levity to the story which we truly need because Lux and Bash are just that intense. I love Jamie. Seriously, the best brother anyone could’ve ever asked. Those letters made me bawl like a baby. I love how Bash loves Lux. I don’t know how many times I’ve cried whenever Bash talks of fighting for them and all the lovey dovey shit. Gah, it truly sets my standard high. I love how selfless Lux is. She sacrificed so much for her love ones, and made herself a living shadow.
