A Bit of Adulting

I haven’t posted anything for one week and two days.

I promise I had good reasons. It was such a busy and painful week so, I’ll just break it down for you.

April 22 (Saturday): Mother had a vacation planned with her friends leaving me and my brother to fend for ourselves till Sunday night. I decided to do the groceries using my own money (I know I’m so proud of myself for pitching in, lol). I bought snacks, candies, instant noodles and canned goods.  It was so unhealthy but it was the weekend and I’m not in the mood to cook anything. And we can just order out, you know. Also, The Originals was on that night. I just slept after watching it.

April 23 (Sunday): I finished my ARC of The Red by Tiffany Reisz. I loved it! I was drafting my review but the internet started acting up and I decided to get a break from it. My brother and I were bored so we decided to clean the house and do some laundry.

April 24 (Monday): I’m really planning on posting something but my tabby cat gave birth to five kitties! I was so worried because she’s been pregnant forever. I’m just happy that they’re all healthy and mommma cat is so damn protective, I can’t get a pic of those babies. Anyway, that distracted me the whole day.

April 25 (Tuesday): My friends asked me out to lunch. I haven’t seen them in almost two months so I jump right ahead. They’re so busy with school and even though I feel left out sometimes I just lend them my ear when they feel like ranting. I can’t say I know or understand what they’re feeling and going through but I’ll always be there to support and uplift them.

April 26 (Wednesday): This is just a lazy day. Didn’t have the energy to do anything but lounge in bed after work and wait for The Flash. And of course, eat lotsa food.

April 27 (Thursday): I went out with my high school friends. Shoot the shit and everything. I haven’t seen the some of them for two years. Growing up sucks sometimes. Anyway, I went home late so couldn’t really post anything.

April 28-30 (Friday – Sunday): I woke up feeling shit last Friday. Wisdom tooth sucks. Basically it’s a very shitty weekend. I didn’t do anything but lay in bed and writhe in pain.

May 1 (Monday): What a way to start the month. I had freaking allergies! My two best friends and I were planning a virtual drinking session but my nose won’t stop sneezing and running. My gahd, it totally ruined my day but I still had fun with them so there’s that.

I’m feeling fine now. Nose is on good condition. Body is not itching. Hopefully, I’ll have a great week ahead so I can post more. Wish me best!

Happy reading!

NOW LIVE: Tortured by Nicole Williams

Tortured

Tortured

When he left for a twelve-month deployment, she knew it would feel like forever before they saw each other again. She didn’t realize how right she was.

When Lance Corporal Brecken Connolly gets taken as a POW, Camryn hopes for the best but steels herself for the worst. In the end, steel was what she needed to survive when he didn’t. She moves on the only way she knows how—gilding herself in more steel.

Years go by.

She builds a new life.

She leaves the old one behind.

Until one day, she sees the face of a ghost on the news. Brecken seems to have risen from the dead, but she knows she can’t perform the same miracle for herself. While Brecken was held in a torture camp for the past five years, she’s been trapped in her own kind of prison. One she can’t be freed from.

The man she mourned comes back to join the living, but the girl he wanted to spend his life with isn’t the same woman he comes back for. Brecken isn’t the same person either. The past five years have changed them both. While he’s determined to put the pieces back together, she’s resolved to let hers rot where they shattered.

Broken or not, Brecken wants her back. He’ll do anything to achieve that. Even if it means going against the warden of Camryn’s personal prison—her husband.

Tortured is Nicole Williams’ new second-chance, military romance standalone. Nicole Williams created another masterpiece. This may be the most raw story she has ever written after Collared. I’ve finished this a week ago but I still can’t write a review that would do justice for this book. (Don’t worry,  I swear I’m gonna post one this week.) If this is the first time you ever heard of Nicole Williams, read her books. You wouldn’t regret it. You’ll love her so much, you’ll start to read all her books. Trust me, I did.

THAT COVER IS TDB HOT.

THIRD DEGREE BURNS H-O-T.

That ‘V’ totally nailed it. And that ripped body, those abs, and the strong  jaw. Is anybody else getting hot? *fans myself*

I am so excited for another gut-wrenching love story by Nicole Williams. This woman knows how to hit all the right buttons, so if you haven’t read anything of hers do not miss her new book, Tortured. I can’t wait to meet Lance Corporal Brecken Connolly. April 9 couldn’t come fast enough!

NEW SERIES: Crash and Burn Series by Jamie McGuire

Yep.

You read it right.

A NEW SERIES BY JAMIE MCGUIRE!

A lot of us were left wailing on Beautiful Funeral, the last book for the Maddox Brothers series. It was such a heartbreaking ending for a very beautiful series. However, we have a new series from the some of the characters we met in Beautiful Burn (Maddox Brothers #4). Jamie McGuire brings us TREX, the first in the Crash and Burn series.

Trex

Unable to continue working under Thomas Maddox at the San Diego division of the FBI, Scottie “Trex” Trexler finds himself recruited to another government agency in Estes Park, Colorado. He just begins to find peace and feel at home when a runaway bride begins working the front desk of his hotel.

Isn’t exciting?!

For those who don’t have any idea who Trex and the runaway bride are, then you have to read Beautiful Burn (Maddox Brothers #4). We don’t have an official cover and release date yet but Jamie has finished writing it so… we’ll hopefully have it this year. Stay tuned for more updates!

My review for Sealed and Styled is here!

I am so very excited to share this series. This is one of my best finds in Netgalley and you wouldn’t regret reading any of Piper Lawson’s books. Sealed is a novella about Dylan and Lexi, the couple from the first book, Schooled. While Styled is the third full-length novel of the series, featuring Jordan Briggs and Ethan Cameron. CURRENTLY READING: Into the Fire by Jeanine Frost

I’ve started this book ages ago and I still haven’t finished it.

This is one of the anticipated books of the year… and I’ve been waiting for this for more or less two years now. This is actually one of my favorite series, which may confuse the lot of you as to why I haven’t devoured Vlad yet, I mean Into the Fire. I started reading this a couple of days after its release and I realized I needed a refresher. So I did a reread and didn’t quite finish what I started because of the hobbies I acquire during my hiatus.

Anyway, I’m planning on finishing this one before heading to bed! I’m more than half-way in and I can’t wait to see the vengeance Vlad will exact on those evil necromancers/witches. We will also see some of the crew in the previous series, so you’re in for a treat. *wink* *wink*

Don’t forget to get your copy of Into The Fire, the fourth and last book in the Night Prince series. Read more for the synopsis!

Coming Home

I’M BACK!!!

Oh. My. God.

It feels so good to be back.

A lot has happened in the three months (holy crap right?!) I’ve been gone. I picked up a lot of hobbies that occupied my readless nights. I started watching Korean dramas (like TV series), which is the shit here in the Philippines nowadays. The stories in those K-dramas actually reminded me of books because the story line and characters is not something I’ve watched every day. It is rare for them to have a season two no matter how much viewers starve for another and I think that’s beautiful. If you’re interested, here’s some that made me cry and fall in love:

KDRAMA

Also, I started watching some Youtubers. I was just looking for Conor Maynard’s songs and the next thing I know I’m watching prank after prank by Joe Sugg. It was so hilarious! However, I didn’t realize how time consuming it was. I feel like only five minutes have passed when it’s actually two hours. Did that stop me? Lol, of course not. But I’m cutting back because I just missed reading and reviewing books so much.

Subscribe to them, they’re amazing!

And here I am.

I was really planning on staring up the blog again last month but I caught German measles. It sucks. I was down for about a week but I’m better now. I actually read a few books between my acquired hobbies but I’m back with a vengeance. I owe you guys a lot of reviews and I missed tons of exciting news in the book world. I’ll probably have two reviews a day to catch up on the exciting releases this year. And of course, tons of updates!

P.S. I actually started cross-stitching but it just didn’t work out. 😦
